Nikah Matches (www.nikahmatches.com and the Nikah Matches mobile and web apps) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting information you provide on our platform.
Information we collect
- Account data: mobile number, email address, password (stored securely hashed), name, and gender.
- Profile data: matrimonial details you choose to share — education, location, family background, partner preferences, and optional photos.
- Usage data: interests sent/received, shortlists, meetings, subscription and payment records (via Razorpay).
- Device data: push notification tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging) when you use the Android app and allow notifications.
- Communications: transactional emails (welcome, password reset, interest notifications) sent via our email provider.
How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and matrimonial profile.
- To show your profile in search results to registered members according to your privacy settings.
- To facilitate interest requests, meetings, and contact sharing per platform rules.
- To process optional recharge plans and send payment-related communications.
- To send service notifications (email and, on the app, push notifications where enabled).
- For security, fraud prevention, and compliance with applicable law.
Who can see your profile
Matrimonial profiles are not visible to the public or to unregistered visitors. Only registered, signed-in members can browse profiles according to search and privacy rules. Bride photos remain protected until interest is accepted and platform rules allow viewing. Contact details unlock only during an active meeting after mutual acceptance.
Data security
Personal information is stored in secured databases with industry-standard access controls. Passwords are never stored in plain text. We use HTTPS for data in transit. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong, unique password and keep your login details confidential.
Third-party services
- Cloud hosting: Microsoft Azure (India region) for API, database, and file storage.
- Email: MSG91 for transactional email delivery.
- Payments: Razorpay for recharge plan payments (we do not store full card details).
- Push notifications: Google Firebase (Android app only).
Your choices
- You may update or complete your profile at any time in the app.
- You may delete your account from Settings; see our Refund & cancellation policy for subscription terms.
- You can disable push notifications in your device settings.
Children
Nikah Matches is for adults aged 18 and above seeking marriage. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. See our Child safety standards.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
